About Southsea Ear Clinic
The Southsea Ear Clinic was established in 2021 in response to the ever increasing difficulty of finding safe, effective and accessible ear wax removal.
As an audiologist in the NHS I was seeing patients on a daily basis with wax problems affecting their hearing, especially those with hearing aids. And with GP surgeries not offering ear syringing routinely anymore it was a huge problem for many people.
I decided to use my experience to set up Southsea Ear Clinic in order to help people with this frustrating issue.
The Southsea Ear Clinic is owned and run by Becky Guarracino, BSc Hons Audiology.
Bio
My name is Becky and I am an audiologist and mum to 2 children.
I started studying for a degree in Audiology at The University of Southampton in 2005 and qualified in 2009. I lived in Southsea but worked at Worthing Hospital for many years, but after coming back from maternity leave in 2020 after having my little boy, I was starting to find the journey too much. I felt I needed to work closer to home so decided to make the move to Queen Alexandra hospital Portsmouth where I have been working since November 2020.
Over the years I have worked in all aspects of audiology in the NHS. I have also worked part-time for another private microsuction company. My areas of special interest are:

- balance/dizzy patients
- complex audiological cases

Hearing Assessment
from £45
Choose Between:
- a 30 min hearing assessment (for those who require the test part only)
- or our 90 minute full hearing assessment for those considering the possibility of hearing aids. At this appointment we will explore in more depth your hearing difficulties, lifestyle and needs and there will be a chance to try some hearing aids if you wish
Hearing Aids

- We have 5 levels of technology for you to choose from, from a range of different manufacturers
- We offer comprehensive warranty and aftercare packages including microsuction ear wax removal
- Your hearing aids will be fitted by our highly experienced audiologist using the very latest technology.
- Full aftercare and support whenever you need it
Microsuction
from £45
- Consultation with the audiologist to determine your issues and ear health history
- Video otoscopy - you will be offered the chance to view your ear canals on the iPad
- Ear wax removal from one or both ears via microsuction
- If necessary, and if the audiologist felt if would be safer or more comfortable, we may use a gentle form of irrigation to clear any remaining wax - your suitability for this would be discussed with you first
- Aftercare advice and onward referral if necessary
